Our Office Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm EST.
The video below explains all our new features and functionality that are different from www.saundersbook.ca and how to make the most use out of them for your purchasing needs.
In order to login into the site you must have an account with this library portal first, registration is not open at this time. Please contact us by phone or by email info@saundersbook.ca to set up an account for you and your institution.
Our new Saunders Book Company Library portal will work on all devices of any screen size above 800 pixels wide.
The web site works best in browsers: Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer 11 and over. JavaScript is required and the web site does not work without it.
In this portal you can have as many shopping carts as you wish, you're free to name, merge, share and export these carts as well. Some options will not be available if the cart is empty.
At any point in time you have only one active cart, any items you add or update will automatically be done to that cart, however you're able to switch carts at any time and also able to quickly add items to another cart without switching carts (This is only possible in a series page).
Like our main website you can only checkout one cart at a time.
Each item in the cart page can be clicked on to edit its allocation, explained in the next section.
We've added a new feature to check for duplicate titles in the cart that are already in your library catalogue. In order to set up this functionality, your library catalogue must be hosted publicly online. You'll need to contact us by email at info@saundersbook.ca and provide us with your library catalogue's website URL.
Please note that checking for duplicates might take a long time, depending on how fast your website is and how many titles you have in the cart. While the process finishes, please do not refresh the page as that will cancel the whole process.
Unlike our main Saunders website, in this portal, items are added by Allocation. Clicking on an item will bring up an option to allocate the item according to your cataloguing needs, there you may choose cataloguing options like Fund Code, Secondary Fund Code, a Category and a Miscellaneous option to be done when the items are ordered.
An item will have all its allocations listed under it in the series page for the item, in the cart screen each allocation for the item will appear separately.
To make your shopping faster and easier, you may specify default allocations to your items to happen account-wide or for items added to a specific cart.
You can specify the defaults in your Account Settings to have the cataloguing options added in automatically any time you add an item to your cart through your account.
Or you can set up Allocation Defaults for specific carts. For example, you could create a new cart specially for "Young Adults" titles and specify defaults for that cart so that any item added to that specific cart will always have the Category "Young Adults" automatically. Please note that allocation defaults on the cart will take precedence over the defaults set in your Account Settings page.
The Add to Series button in the series page will automatically add the entire series with your allocation defaults (Whether they are specified in Account Settings or Cart pages) to your currently active cart.
You are always free to change allocations on any item in any cart either from the series page of the item or in the cart's page.
We have added a new feature to make your purchasing process even faster, in the Batch Import page you can quickly type in a list of ISBNs to import into an existing cart or a new cart.
Or even better, you can upload a Comma Delimited (.csv) file with a list of ISBNs, quantities and your allocation options for each item to be imported directly into an existing or a new cart. Blank entries will automatically be filled in with your Allocation Defaults from your Account Settings or that cart's defaults.
We offer On-Order MARC upon completion of any orders you have with us for your library catalogue system. These records can be customized to whatever information your library catalogue system requires per title, please contact us at info@saundersbook.ca to set these records up for your catalogue system.
Once the records for an order are created, you may download them at any time under On-Order MARC in your account menu. These records are not the full MARC records for the titles ordered, the full records will be processed and sent to you at a later time.
We strive to design our web site for the best simplicity and clarity around the purchasing features and functionalities we offer, and we would be happy to receive any suggestions or feedback you might have to improve it.
If you have any suggestions on how we can improve our web site, or if there is a feature you would like to see, please feel free to get in touch with us at info@saundersbook.ca.
